How to import a line drawing from Solidworks into Adobe Illustrator

Open a 3D CAD model in the Solidworks application

1. Pose the model,
2. Roll the mouse over the"View Orientation" icon located in the "Heads-Up View" cluster at the top middle of the working area screen
3. Strike the space-bar and the "Orientation" tool cluster appears. Choose "New View" and add your current pose as a view with a unique name

4. From the drop-down menu, choose the "New View" icon
5. Give your pose/view a unique name

1. Roll the mouse over the "Display Style" icon

5. From the drop-down menu, choose the icon called "Hidden Lines Removed"

1. Make Drawing From Assembly→ Drawing → OK
